Tax Associate

Richmond, VA (In-Office with Flexibility)

ProspectBlue is partnering with a Richmond-based family office accounting firm on the hire of a Tax Associate. The role prepares individual, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns for high-net-worth families and reports directly to the Tax Manager. It’s a long-term growth position on a small team, a good fit for an early-career tax professional who wants to build depth and take on more responsibility over time.

What You’ll Do

Prepare individual, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns for Tax Manager review

Gather and organize client tax documents, workpapers, and supporting schedules

Support tax planning projects, including estate, gift, and charitable planning

Handle year-round client needs, including estimated payments, extensions, and tax notices

Work with clients and their outside advisors (investment, legal, and insurance) as your role grows

Stay current on tax law changes and developments

What You Bring

1–3 years of tax experience in public accounting (required)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

CPA, or working toward licensure, preferred

Experience preparing individual returns; exposure to partnership, trust, or high-net-worth returns is a plus

Comfortable with tax compliance and research software; QuickBooks experience is a plus

Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
