Kömmerling USA, a part of the global profine Group , is growing its Window & Door business in North America and is seeking a detail-oriented
Window & Door Estimator
to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama.
This position plays an important role in supporting our Sales organization by preparing
accurate and technically complete quotations for custom window and door projects .
The Estimator will review customer requirements and specifications, configure the appropriate window and door solutions, and ensure that all relevant components — including
profile systems, glass, hardware, dimensions, configurations, and other product options
— are correctly reflected in each quotation.
Key
Prepare accurate and complete
quotations for window and door projects
based on customer and Sales requirements.
Review drawings, specifications, dimensions, and other project information required to prepare quotations.
Configure window and door products using the appropriate
profiles, glass specifications, hardware, accessories, and product options .
Ensure all quotation details, quantities, configurations, and pricing information are complete and accurate before submission.
Work closely with the
Sales team
to clarify customer requirements and provide completed quotations in a timely manner.
Identify missing, conflicting, or unclear information and proactively obtain clarification before finalizing a quotation.
Evaluate requested configurations against available product systems and manufacturing capabilities.
Coordinate with our internal
Engineering team
when questions arise regarding technical feasibility, manufacturability, or non-standard configurations.
Revise quotations based on customer changes, Sales feedback, or updated project specifications.
Maintain organized quotation and project documentation.
Support continuous improvement of estimating processes, product configuration data, and quotation accuracy.
Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Kömmerling's window and door systems, components, and available configurations.
Previous experience in
window and door estimating, quoting, order processing, technical sales support, or a similar role
is preferred.
Strong technical understanding and ability to work with detailed product configurations and specifications.
Experience with
Klaes, Windowmaker, FlexCost, or similar window and door estimating/configuration software is a strong plus.
Knowledge of window and door components, including profile systems, glass, hardware, and accessories , is highly preferred.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, dimensions, specifications, and customer requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to
accuracy and quality .
Ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information before a quotation is completed.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple quotation requests and priorities simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively with Sales, Engineering, and other internal departments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience within the
window, door, fenestration, building products, or related manufacturing industry
is a strong advantage.

This role requires someone who understands that even small errors in a window or door quotation — such as an incorrect profile, glass specification, hardware configuration, dimension, or option — can have significant consequences later in the order and manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate therefore takes ownership of quotation accuracy, carefully reviews their work, asks questions when information is unclear, and proactively coordinates with Sales and Engineering when technical clarification is required.
